About
The Team Brazil Scholarship has been setup to provide opportunities for young Brazilian race car drivers to further their careers. The Scholarship will be looking to choose 6 drivers to put forward for a chance to win, where the winner will be chosen based on results, passion, media and fitness skills.
The plan for the first year of the Scholarship is to fund one driver to race in the World Famous Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch in the United Kingdom. The winner will follow in the footsteps of many great drivers, with Brands Hatch being the track Ayrton Senna took his first car victory at. The scholarship also aims to introduce drivers to influential figures within the sport who will provide valuable insight and contacts to better the driver's career. Hopefully if everything goes well in the first year of the Scholarship we will be able to expand to create more opportunities for the winning drivers.
Formula Ford has been a successful breeding ground for drivers, mechanics and engineers since it's creation in 1967. The Formula remains extremely competitive in Britain and still produces many career minded drivers each year. With no downforce, the same engines, treaded tyres and a multitude of different Chassis Formula Fords have the ability to slipstream and follow each other extremely closely producing incredible racing.
Formula Ford still has the ability to teach drivers invaluable racing skills and car control, something that has lead to the Team USA Scholarship & Team Canada Scholarships helping young drivers further their careers by entering drivers into the Prestigious Formula Ford Festival. The Team Brazil Scholarship has been setup with a similar goal to enter young career minded Brazilian drivers into the world famous Formula Ford Festival and provide them with an opportunity to further their racing skills.
Over the years the prestigious Formula Ford Festival has seen 14 winners of the event progress into Formula 1, with countless others using it as a training ground to better their careers on the road to formula 1.
The winner of the Scholarship in 2022 will be traveling to the United Kingdom to race at Brands Hatch in the Formula Ford Festival. The driver will be racing with the Works Swift Cooper team and taking part in 3 test days before the Formula Ford Festival itself. The Formula Ford Festival attracts drivers from all over the world and has drivers taking part in heats, Semi-Finals and the Grand Final itself. The top 60 drivers from the heats will qualify for the Semi-Finals, with the top 30 progressing into the all important Grand Final. The event is televised and also live streamed on YouTube.
